Carpanelli Atex Motors

Great news from Carpanelli!
The Bolognese electric motor company announces that it has resumed production of electric motors with Atex certification.

The EU Atex certification for Category 3GD was obtained using the TUV Italia certifying body.

The type of Atex that can be supplied is:
II 3G Ex ec IIC T4 or T3 Gc
II 3D Ex tc IIIC T100°C or T100°C Dc

The new series of Atex motors will take the nomenclature of M3X for standard three-phase motors and MA3X for self-braking three-phase motors.

What is Atex certification?

ATEX (Atmosphères Explosibles) certification is a fundamental requirement for electric motors intended to operate in environments with potentially explosive atmospheres. This certification is regulated by two European directives: ATEX 2014/34/EU (products) and ATEX 99/92/EC (health and safety of workers).

ATEX-certified electric motors are designed to minimise explosion risks in the presence of flammable gases, vapours or dust. They must meet strict construction and safety standards to prevent explosions from occurring.

The adoption of ATEX-certified motors is essential in sectors such as the chemical, oil and pharmaceutical industries, where safety is a priority. Ensuring compliance with these standards not only protects workers but also the integrity of plants, reducing the risk of serious and costly accidents.

Atex Electric Motors

It is possible to have all three-phase Carpanelli electric motors, 2, 4 or 6 poles, with and without brake, from size M63 to size M132, in the Atex version.

All motors in the Atex series are already in IE2 or IE3 efficiency, according to the requirements of the energy efficiency regulations for electric motors.

Atex motors can also be supplied with encoders, with paint or surface coatings, with thermal protection by thermistors.

Atex Self-braking Electric Motors

All Carpanelli motors mentioned above are also available in a version with brake.

The brake is available in direct current or alternating current, with or without release lever.

The brake on Carpanelli's Atex self-braking electric motors is only a parking or emergency brake.
